Chhath Puja 2026 in Germany

Also called Chhath, Surya Shashthi.

City by city

Times are local to each city, computed from its own coordinates and real UTC offset for that date — so daylight saving is already accounted for. For Chhath Puja, the arghya is offered to the setting sun.

Why can the date differ from India?

A tithi is a 12° step of the Moon's elongation from the Sun. It begins and ends at a single instant everywhere on Earth. What changes by location is whether the moment the rule points at — sunrise, sunset or moonrise — falls inside that window on a given local date. That is why the shift runs opposite to the timezone: places west of India can observe a day earlier, places east a day later.
