These are the transits that shape years rather than days, computed fresh each time this page is served rather than typed into it. The fast movers — Moon, Mercury, Venus — change sign too often to be worth listing; the ones below are what a transit reading is actually built on.

Counted from your Moon, not your Sun sign

This is the error that makes most published transit writing useless to the person reading it. In the Vedic system a transit's effect is judged by how many houses it falls from your natal Moon — the janma rashi — and not from your Sun sign or your ascendant. Saturn in Pisces means something completely different to someone with a Capricorn Moon than to someone with a Cancer Moon, because it is the 3rd from one and the 9th from the other.

The 3rd, 6th and 11th appear for almost every planet — the upachaya houses, where even malefics produce growth. That is not a coincidence: it is the same weighting the Ashtakvarga bindu rules encode.

Why a favourable house can still feel bad

The table above is the first filter, not the verdict. Two things override it. A planet transiting a favourable house from your Moon can still be running its own dasha, which amplifies everything it does, for good or otherwise. And a transit lands on whatever that house contains in your chart — Saturn arriving in a house that already holds your chart's weakest planet is a different event from Saturn arriving in an empty one.
