A yoga is a named combination — two or more placements that, together, mean something neither means alone. The calculator above checks your chart against each condition below. They are printed in full because the conditions are not secret: what is hard is knowing whether yours actually meets one, since most require checking a house lord's position rather than a planet's sign.

Why a yoga in your chart may still do nothing
This is the part that gets left out, and it is the reason people who have been told they have Raj Yoga often feel misled. A yoga is a capacity, not an event. Three things decide whether it ever pays out:
The planets forming it must be strong
A yoga built from a debilitated or combust planet is a promise made by someone who cannot keep it. Dignity is checked before the combination means anything.
Its period has to arrive
A yoga tends to deliver during the mahadasha or antardasha of the planets that form it. If those periods fall late in life, the yoga is real and dormant for decades.
Nothing must cancel it
A benefic combination sitting in the 6th, 8th or 12th, or aspected by a strong malefic, can be neutralised outright — the classical texts are specific about this and most listings ignore it.
Which is why a list of yogas is worth less than it looks, and why the calculator reports the placements that formed each one rather than just the name. A yoga you cannot trace back to two specific planets in two specific houses is not a finding.
