Its permanent house is the 10th (Karma bhava — work and public reputation). Saturn has the LONGEST dasha (19.5 years), making it the planet that most defines life chapters. Weak/afflicted Saturn manifests as: chronic delays in career, inherited debts, joint and bone problems, low blood pressure, depression, harsh boss/working conditions, recurring loss of employees, and the "everything I build collapses" pattern. Strong Saturn gives durable career building, justice-mindedness, and successful long-term ventures.
Sun

In Lal Kitab tradition, the Sun is the karaka of FATHER, government authority, kingship, soul, and vitality. Its permanent house ("Pakka Ghar") is the 1st (Lagna). A weak or "sleeping" Sun in your chart often manifests as: difficult relationship with father, recurring problems with government departments, low self-esteem, weak immunity, eye trouble, or absence of recognition despite hard work. A strong Sun gives natural leadership, paternal blessings, government favour, and durable health.

Mercury in Lal Kitab is the karaka of MAMA-MAUSI (maternal aunts and uncles), business, communication, intellect, accounting, voice, and skin. Its permanent house is the 7th (partnerships, business deals). Weak Mercury manifests as: business losses, speech impediment or chronic stuttering, difficulty in mathematics/accounting, skin disorders (especially eczema, allergies), conflicts with maternal-side relatives. Lal Kitab specifically warns: an afflicted Mercury makes a person GOOD at speaking but BAD at business — they impress in interviews but lose money in ventures. Strong Mercury gives commercial intelligence, eloquence, and rapid learning.
Why "Pakka Ghar" and not your rising sign
This is what separates Lal Kitab from the rest of Vedic astrology. The twelve houses are fixed: house 1 is Aries for everyone, house 2 Taurus, through to house 12 Pisces. And every planet has a permanent house — its pakka ghar — the same for everyone: Saturn belongs to the 10th, Jupiter belongs to the 2nd, Moon belongs to the 4th. A planet sitting in its own permanent house behaves very differently from one that is not, and the remedies follow from that.
The part people get wrong: the khana is the rashi. A planet drawn in khana 1 is a planet in Aries — the box and the sign are the same object, which is why Saturn in Capricorn sits in khana 10 for everyone.
